The Unofficial LEGO Technic Builders Guide

After "The Unofficial LEGO Builders Guide" , now come "The Unofficial LEGO Technic Builders Guide". It is available in the Book Depository.

Sinner in Europe Brick has made a good review for this book, you can read his review.

The big unofficial LEGO Builder's Book

This 400 page paperback, The big unofficial LEGO Builder's Book: Build your own city, has just been published by Heel Verlag GmbH, I have yet to purchase.  It's written by Joachim Klang and Oliver Albrecht who, according to the introduction, are active members of the German AFOL scene and 1000Steine.

It's divided into two sections. The first provides instructions and inspiration for building a micro-scale LEGO city like that shown on the cover. Most of the 30 instructions are for vehicles of some sort although some small buildings and trees are also included. The second, much smaller section, has instructions for five minifig scale 'professional models', four cars and a helicopter.  (source: Brickset)

LEGO Ninjago: Character Encyclopedia

The Lego Ninjago Character Encyclopedia is now out for pre-order in BN (Barnes & Noble - here). This encyclopedia came with the Green Ninjago Character.

Description extracted from BN:
"Contains an EXCLUSIVE minifigure for you to put together!

Sensei Wu's ninjas may work together, but they are actually all very different and unique. Little ninjas everywhere can now learn everything there is to know about their favorite Masters of Spinjitzu in DK's LEGO® Ninjago: Character Encyclopedia.

Each beautifully illustrated spread features tons of fun facts on the different characters, variants of each minifigure, and the various vehicles, weapons, and locations that make up the LEGO Ninjago world. Additional pages will be included featuring special events from the new animated series on Cartoon Network, making this book the perfect addition to every LEGO lover's collection!"

Lego Friends Brickmaster Book

Brickmaster Friends is a Friends themed Brickmaster Book to be published on September 17 2012. It has 48 pages, and will contain the mini-dolls Mia and Chloe, who is exclusive to it. Source from brickipedia.

The 2011 LEGO Minifigure Catalog

Just browse the brickset and found out that Christoph Bartneck, author of the excellent Unofficial LEGO Minifigure Catalog has published three new books. These three new books contains pictures and details of nearly every minifig released in 2011, all 415 of them. Christoph has sensibly decided not to re-issue the full catalog every year but to publish books like this annually so that you can keep up to date for a small incremental cost.

Exacted from brickset:
"The 2011 LEGO Minifigure Catalog

The format has been improved significantly and now all relevant details about the figures are included in the body of the book, together with images of the head and back. There is also a price guide for each figure, showing new and used prices in USD, as taken from BrickLink.

The Harry Potter LEGO Minifigure Catalog and The Star Wars LEGO Minifigure Catalog follow the same format. They cover every minifig in their respective theme, to the end of 2011. Both books are organised in chapters corresponding to the movies and within each chapter the figures are ordered by their number. That perhaps, is the only criticism I can make about the books: finding a particular variation of, say, Boba Fett, requires a bit of digging around. It might have been better to order the books by character name.

Notwithstanding this minor point, the books are excellent and well worth buying if you're a collector of either of the themes in question. The 2011 catalog is likely only to appeal to those with the full catalog, but these two stand alone as useful references in their own right. Highly recommended!"

New book from Sean Kenny - Cool Castles

Kenny Sean will publish new book - Cool Castles. I personally love his idea in the book. However, there are too little pages to satisfy me. I own his Cool City series and the book feature plenty of ideas on furniture and building. Of course, they are not as extensive as those ideas in The Lego Ideas book. Well, the new book - Cool Castles will be available on 16 October 2012 and it is currently available for pre-order in Barnes & nobles.

Previous books published by Kenny are listed in my previous blog:
