Brickmania, BrickArms and G.I. Brick to Host Off-Site Event During Brickworld (Chicago)

Brickmania, BrickArms and G.I. Brick to Host Off-Site Event During Brickworld (Chicago)

Source: http://brickmaniatoys.com/world-war-brick/

Why there isn't such event in Singapore. This is a customized or MOC of bricks to fix the world war scene. They are pretty cool. The following of the paragraphs are information I exact from the website.

"WHY:

We have recently been informed by the organizers

that we could not be provided with a space large enough to safely set up a Brickmania and BrickArms booth at this year’s Chicago Brickworld LEGO® fan convention. Those present during previous years remember the long lines and severe crowding at our booth, as well as a total lack of space to properly display our products. Both BrickArms and Brickmania have previously sponsored Brickworld and our booths have been among the main attractions for the hardcore fans and public visitors alike. Not wanting to disappoint those who expected a visit to our booth to be part of the Brickworld experience, we have secured another location nearby to host our first ever joint Brickmania / BrickArms display and  sale.

WHO:

Brickmania, the first name in custom military LEGO kits, will be joined by  G.I. Brick, an authorized BrickArms reseller for this collaborative display and sale. BrickArms founder Will Chapman will also be on hand to show off new products, answer questions, and promises to bring at least one exclusive item that will only be available at this event.

WHAT:

We have a large banquet hall to display large LEGO models and dioramas that highlight products of BrickArms and Brickmania in their proper historical (or fictional) references. Brickmania founder Daniel Siskind will also bring many of his award-winning LEGO models to display, including an 8 foot long replica of the famous battleship USS Missouri plus scores of aircraft, armored vehicles and more. This will perhaps be be largest collection of LEGO militaria ever assembled for a single display. Of course there will also be products for sale at this event, including the complete line of Brickmania custom LEGO kits, a dazzling array of BrickArms custom molded weapons, custom minifigs, T-shirts (including exclusive designs to this event) and more.

WHEN:

Friday, June 15th: 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Saturday, June 16th: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday, June 17th: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

WHERE:

AMVETS post 66
700 McHenry Rd.
Wheeling, IL   60090
(2.5 miles from the Westin Hotel – look for the Patton tank parked in front!)"

Building a Loving SG with Lego

Singapore is going to have Nation Day Celebrations again and this time its involved LEGO!!! The following is the source: http://ndp.org.sg/participation/building-a-loving-sg/

"As part of Singapore’s 47th National Day Celebrations, Singaporeans from all walks of life can contribute to the building blocks of National Day Parade (NDP) at the Floating Platform! Spearheaded by a group of young adults from various youth organisations, we want to re-create the rousing celebrations at Marina Bay Floating Platform with over 100,000 LEGO® bricks and LEGO® minifigures.

This project also wants to reach out to Singaporeans from all walks of life, getting them to openly express their love for our country by participating in this record-breaking initiative. Members of the public can be represented by a LEGO minifigure at the ‘celebrations’ by making a $5 donation where they will receive a pair of customised LEGO minifigures – one of the LEGO minifigures will be placed on the seating gallery of the platform, while the other is for their keepsake as a reminder of their participation.

All proceeds received from the project will go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund whose mission is to reach out to every child in need and provide them with the resources to do well in school – and beyond."

Lego 10226 Sopwith Camel

This is a remake of the old Sopwith Camel.

The following is the exact from lego.com

"Recreate your very own piece of aviation history with the historic Sopwith Camel. This detailed replica of one of the most recognizable British single-seat biplanes ever to have graced the skies. Features include a realistic rotating propeller and engine cylinders, hinged tail rudder, realistic tension wires, functioning wing ailerons and tail flaps that can be controlled from the cockpit – just like the real plane! The detail doesn't stop there; this authentic model has over 880 bricks, including rare dark green, dark tan and metallic silver elements.

Lego Star Wars TC-14

TC-14 is a protocol droid with feminine programming. She was silver, and much like C-3PO and K-3PO.  It come free with a USD$75 Lego Star Wars purchase! But offer only valid May 4-5 2012 at US Lego Stores and shop.lego.com. Sigh. Its sooo cool but its too expensive to just buy over at ebay. :(
